Coeur d’Alene has much to offer for both locals and tourists. It’s really hard to get bored here. Even if you find yourself on a tight budget, don’t worry, you’ll still have a TON of fun here!. And the fun never gets old! Here are a few things to do for free in Coeur d’Alene:
Cool Off at Independence Point (aka City Beach)
If you’re visiting Coeur d’Alene for the first time, you must experience Independence Point. This is what puts Coeur d’Alene on the map. Bring some sunscreen and a towel, relax and swim. Take it all in. There are volleyball courts set up here, bbq pits, and a huge park for your kids to play in (they won’t want to leave). This is the perfect place to enjoy a family outing filled with Coeur d’Alene Lake’s sun and sand.
Walk The Boardwalk
About a 1 minute walk from City beach you’ll discover the world’s longest floating boardwalk. It’s wheelchair accessible and a unique way of taking in Lake Coeur d’Alene.
Sidenote: If you happen to be looking for a unique evening and want to impress your significant other, this makes a great surprise date. There are some tables in the middle of the boardwalk that are perfect for a sunset dinner. There are 2-3 tables, each seated for four people making it ideal for a double date. Pack up a tablecloth, and your dinner (impress them with a homemade meal) and surprise them with a romantic dinner on the lake. No restaurant bills, no waiters to tip, completely free.

With Gorgeous views of the lake, secluded sandy areas to swim, Tubbs Hill gives the unique feeling of being downtown, while on a nature hike, making it one of the premier hiking destinations along lake Coeur d’Alene.

Play Pickleball
In the Summer Spring and Fall, (almost always), these pickleball courts (near memorial field and the Cda Skate park) are active. The thing is, even if you come alone, the people in Cda are always so friendly and most would be glad to have you join in with them on the pickleball action. These courts are top-notch.
